Doctor (PhD) in Economics and Master (MS) from Northeastern University of Boston. Bachelor of Economics from the Complutense University.
He has been President of Telefónica Latinoamérica (2011-2014), General Director of Finance and Strategy (2010-2011) and General Director of Finance and Corporate Development (2002-2010) in the Telefónica Group. He was previously President of Fonditel, General Director of Société Générale Valores and Director of the Bolsa in Beta Capital, in Madrid.
He is Professor of Applied Economics (on leave) of the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Murcia and has been a professor at the IE Business School.
Since 2017 he is Chairman of the Board of Aedas Homes and Vice President of EBN Banco de Negocios. Since 2008 he is also a board member and member of the Audit Committee of Ferrovial, S.A. Previously he was Vice President of Metrovacesa (1999-2007)
